For me, the latest and greatest salty snack is popchips! If you haven't tried them yet (and you're missing out if you haven't), they are a light and delicious snack made from potatoes - but NO, they aren't fried like a greasy chip and they're not baked like a boring one. They are POPPED!
That means you are left with a snack that is half the fat of fried potato chips. They also have NO trans fat, saturated fat, cholesterol or preservatives. A 1 oz serving, which is about 20 chips (and seems like a lot since they are so big and fluffy) contains 120 calories and 4 g of fat.
popchips are available in a whole slew of flavors: original, barbecue, sour cream & onion, cheddar, sea salt & vinegar, salt & pepper, and parmesan garlic. My favorite is the sea salt & vinegar - YUM, I just love them! My husband's top pick is the barbecue, which I am so-so on. I honestly am not a big fan of the salt & pepper (but I don't like ANY salt & pepper flavored snacks) or the parmesan garlic. The parmesan garlic, however, is my Mom's favorite by far - if you like a strong flavor you will probably like it too.
